Sustainability
At Brooks School, our mission goes beyond academics.
Brooks embraces the challenge of being a leader in combating climate change.
Our idyllic lakeside location, steeped in Pennacook history, fuels our commitment to environmental stewardship. By empowering students and fostering a culture of sustainability, we not only prepare our students intellectually but also instill a moral awareness and social responsibility that extends beyond our campus.
Our students will become agents of positive change in the world when leaving Brooks, not just as graduates but as empowered citizens who understand the interconnectedness of environmental, economic and social issues. This aligns perfectly with our mission to provide the most meaningful educational experience for all students in our community.
Brooks dormitories can get Green Living Brooks certified by adopting sustainability practices.
There are many ways students can get involved . . .
- One being joining No Planet B as a leader or a club member.
- Students can also become an Eco-Rep, who educates the community on things including waste, recycling and energy conservation.
- We also have a Farm Club in which you can learn all about sustainable farming and working on the land.
No Planet B set up a station for students to weigh their food waste. The idea was to educate our community about how much food is wasted and prompt thought about how to reduce it.

"We all have a role to play, big or small. We can make changes in our daily lives like reducing waste, reserving energy and supporting sustainable practices. We can raise awareness, speak up for environmental justice, environmental protection and hold our leaders accountable.
As Jane Goodall said... 'What you do makes a difference and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.'"
