Health & Wellness Center

Prior to the 2016-2017 school year, Brooks relocated its prior health center on campus and created a brand-new, expanded and renovated Health & Wellness Center for students.

While we hope that our students will steer clear of being ill and needing to spend lots of time in this facility, we are amazed at how the space has come together and will serve students in need of a wide range of care.
Head of School John Packard

An important step forward for the school, the expansion equips our health professionals with a space that will allows them to serve a myriad of health services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Wellness Center is staffed by a registered nurse at all times. A registered nurse in charge of student medications is also on-site Monday through Friday mornings. Brooks' director of health services, Tracey Costantino, is a board certified family nurse practitioner and available to students for appointments and urgent health issues. She is on-call for the nursing staff 24 hours a day.

From preventative care to urgent medical attention, the Health & Wellness Center serves our entire student community offering:

  • assessment, diagnosis and treatment/management of both acute and chronic medical issues
  • on-site lab work
  • flu clinics
  • management of students' medications
  • Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT)
  • coordination of students' off-campus appointments
  • conference-room space for educational events

As director Costantino says, "Our doors are open for everything."

Where do students sleep?

Brooks' Health & Wellness Center offers eight beds (four private, single rooms; two double rooms) for students with a fever or who are feeling ill.

The facility, adjacent to the Academic Building, also offers a large common area with a television and board games. "It’s a cozy, relaxing lounge area allowing students to get out of their beds even if they're not well enough to go back to school," said Director of Health Services Tracey Costantino. "They can be up and about a bit and feel more at home."

What else is inside?
