Students may elect community service as a full-time afternoon activity Monday through Friday. Weekly activities include:
- tutoring children at the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club, Haverhill Boys and Girls Club and Bellesini Academy in Lawrence
- visiting residents at the Sutton Hill Retirement Center and the German Home
- serving the evening meal at the Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence
In addition to the afternoon program, there are many opportunities for students to be involved in community service:
- contribute to Lazarus House’s Hike for Hope in the fall
- sponsor blood drives on campus
- collect canned goods on Parents Weekend for local food pantries
- raise money to buy turkeys for a local organization at Thanksgiving
- help bring Christmas gifts to families in need
- volunteer at Habitat for Humanity’s Youth United Build
- participate in North Andover’s Earth Day clean-up
- send a bus to Boston for the Walk for Hunger
- sponsor an on-campus spring run/walk to benefit a selected charity
- maintain a year-long clothing collection bin which benefits the thrift shop at Lazarus House
- work at local farms that offer equitation therapy programs and a local hospital
