Our goal for this event is to provide our community with a chance for students, families and faculty to come together and learn more about your student's experience at Brooks. We look forward to seeing you.

Thursday, October 19
 

  • 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Registration in Wilder Dining Hall
     
  • 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Third- and Fourth-Form Welcome Reception in the Keating Room, located in Wilder Dining Hall. Parents and guardians of students in the classes of 2027 and 2026 are invited to join school leaders, teachers, fellow parents and guardians for appetizers and beverages as we kick off Family Weekend.
     


Friday, October 20
 

  • 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Registration in Wilder Dining Hall
     
  • 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Class visits: Parents and guardians are invited to attend classes with their student.  
     
  • 10:05 - 10:55 a.m. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) presentation and introductions of affinity group leaders in the Chapel. 
     
  • 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Lunch in Wilder Dining Hall
     
  • 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. College counseling forum and speaker in the Chapel. Parents and guardians are invited — especially class of 2025 — to learn more about the college process from Boston College Associate Director of Admission Katie Phung, who will discuss the current landscape in college admission.
     
  • 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Tour the new boathouse Demoulas Family Boathouse
     
  • 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. Third- and Fourth-Form Health and Wellness presentation in the Science Forum, located in the academic building. Join members of our health and wellness, athletics and student affairs offices for a presentation about the services and resources available to our students.
     
  • 3:00 - 3:45 p.m. Learn about Winter Term 2024 in the Luce Library, 2nd floor 
     
  • 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Fifth- and Sixth-Form Welcome Reception in the Keating Room, located in Wilder Dining Hall. After you register, and before you head off to the cook-out and football game, we invite you to stop by for a casual reception with Head of School John Packard and other school leaders.
     
  • 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Celebrate our athletes with an afternoon of games (Click on the bell alert icon below to add a team's schedule to your calendar). UPDATE: THE SHOW WILL GO ON! During the football halftime we are excited to offer a show: The Advanced Rock Band will be performing! In anticipation of rain this evening, the National Anthem and the halftime show will be performed out of the hospitality tent. 
  • 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Cookout UPDATE: Formerly planned to be held on the Anna K. Trustey turf, the community meal for students and families will be offered in Wilder Dining Hall due to potential rain. Snacks and drinks will still be available in the football field hospitality tent during the game!
  • 7:30 - 8:00 p.m. Warm up! Hot chocolate, coffee, water and cookies are available in the theater lobby of the Center for the Arts.
     
  • 8:00 p.m. "Arts in Progress" Join us in the Center for the Arts for a concert featuring the Brooks School chorus, chamber orchestra, both jazz bands and selections from the fall musical Footloose. Also, please tour the building to observe and appreciate recent works on display from our student artists.
     


Saturday, October 21
 

  • 7:00 - 9:00 a.m. Breakfast in Wilder Dining Hall
     
  • 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. Registration in Wilder Dining Hall
     
  • 8:00 - 10:35 a.m. Mini-classes in the academic building. Join your student for an overview (15 minute periods) of their classes this fall.

  • 10:45 - 11:30 a.m. State of the School in the Chapel. Head of School John Packard will share an update on Brooks School and our initiatives for the future. 
     
  • 10:45 - 11:30 a.m. Special snack for students at Wilder Dining Hall. 
     
  • 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Exchange, School Year Abroad and Students on the Forefront presentations in the Center for the Arts theater. There are many exciting opportunities for Brooks students. Learn about Exchange, School Year Abroad (SYA) and Students on the Forefront (SF).
     
  • 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Lunch in Wilder Dining Hall
     
  • 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Family Photos! A professional photographer will be available outside of Wilder Dining Hall to take family portraits.
     
  • 12:45 - 1:15 p.m. DEIB FOCUS meeting in the Keating Room of Wilder Dining Hall. Join Dean of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Reverend Terri Ofori, Head of School John Packard, Assistant Head of School Nina Hanlon and Dean of College Counseling Andy Campbell for the first FOCUS meeting of the year.
     
  • 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Learning Center Open House in the Learning Center, 2nd floor of the academic building. Stop by the Learning Center to meet our team of teachers.
     
  • 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Tour the new boathouse Go inside the Demoulas Family Boathouse on the shore of Lake Cochichewick.
     
  • 2:15 - 4:30 p.m. Cheer on Brooks athletes at Saturday's games (Click on the bell alert icon below to add a team's schedule to your calendar):
