Campus Highlights

On May 27, Brooks' rock bands and guest singers performed in the school's annual Woodstock-style music festival, Brookstock, in the Class of 2020 Quad. 
 

Shirts Day! On May 19, the class of 2026 posed together in the Anna Trustey Memorial Garden wearing shirts to show where they'll be headed after graduation from Brooks. Best wishes to all!

Brooks School classes of 2025 and 2026 celebrated prom on April 26 at Venu in Boston!

Saturday, fun day! On March 28, Brooks offered a DJ-ed "neon dance" in blacklight, gaming truck fun and karaoke-filled Head of School open house for all! 

On March 4, Brooks girls 1st basketball team triumphed 66-54 over Proctor Academy in the Class B tournament at home, advancing to the 2026 NEPSAC semifinals.

On March 2, Jackson Robbins '28 was named the winner of Brooks School's annual oratory challenge. Congratulations to him and to finalists Finley Cronin '27, Lyla McKechnie '27 and Brooke Scanlon '28.

More than 50 Brooks students, parents, faculty and friends came together on Feb. 17 in the Keating Room for a special Lunar New Year celebration with Brooks' Asian Student Alliance. After a buffet and some music, Head of School John Packard presented the special red envelopes. In addition, all Brooks students enjoyed Asian cuisine and a music performance in Wilder Dining Hall.

On January 9, Boston Celtics Owner Bill Chisholm '87 returned to campus to meet with the boys soccer team, visit with students and give a talk about his career to the campus community.

On December 7, Brooks celebrated our annual Winter Concert with performances by the jazz bands, chorus and chamber orchestra, plus a big combined holiday-themed number featuring all these groups alongside our two rock bands.

Fun was in full effect on Saturday (December 6) with Main Street caroling, the tree lighting, competitive bingo (tons of prize tickets on the line!) + games and snacks at the Head of School's open house!

Brooks School's Firetrail Theatre student performers and technicians brought "Into the Woods" to life — outdoors on October 23, 24, 29 and 30.

On October 18, Brooks celebrated our annual “Block Party,” featuring fall games and purple pumpkins to raise awareness for epilepsy, as envisioned by the late Anna K. Trustey '16.

September 27: Saturday night's "Main Street Grand Prix" took over the center of campus — after a trip to Mad Maggie's ice cream and open mic night, before the volleyball tournament and open art studio. Weekends are for fun at Brooks!

On September 15, students enjoyed the school's annual club fair, where they explored the 44 different organizations and activities available to them throughout the year at Brooks.

"Hello Campaign" — In school meeting on September 12, Head of School John Packard demonstrated a Brooks greeting with Head Prefect Tristan Yepdo '26.

Move-in day on September 4 was filled with warm welcomes, school spirit and team-building activities.

 

On May 21, the campus community enjoyed a celebration of Asian cultures presented by ASA (Asian Student Alliance) featuring a lion dance performance, workshops delving into aspects of Asian Pacific cultures and a keynote address by Mai Du, an immigrant entrepreneur and activist in the Boston Asian American community. See the photo album.

 

On May 13, Boston MedFlight visited campus to share their story of transporting Wakeman Gribbell '26 to Boston Children's Hospital and educate students about their critical care transport program. Read about the MedFlight visit in our news story.

On May 2, Brooks celebrated our 1st Annual Brooks Oscars Ceremony, with awards given to five ~2-minute-long movie trailers submitted by dorm and day student groups in the categories of: Best Director, Best Editor, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Picture. On May 1, Brooks celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month & Flag Day. “It is a time to come together as a community to learn to grow and to celebrate the diversity that makes us stronger,” Cheng Zhuang '25 said in Chapel — before the campus community watched a procession of flags down Main Street in which students honored “the many nations and cultures that connect us!”

Head of School John Packard challenged Ohio State-bound Lydia Tangney '25 to earn a holiday for students on April 28, 2025.

On April 27, the classes of 2025 + 2026 dazzled and danced the night away in the Seaport at The Grand Boston! SEE PHOTOS.

 

On February 3, Berklee College of Music professor and pianist Zahili Gonzalez Zamora treated students to a mini concert during her guest visit to Chapel. The composer also met with advanced jazz band + rock band classes — and offered a performance lecture in the Center for the Arts for everyone. “There’s so much power in music,” she said that morning. “Whether you're going to be a musician or not, I think we need to recognize music a little bit more… [and] I just want students to connect more with it. Hopefully, that’s something I can do with them today!” 

 

On December 19, the campus community celebrated our annual Lessons and Carols service, followed by a formal dinner and advisory group photo shoot. Happy holidays! 

 

On December 15, Brooks celebrated our annual winter concert featuring Jazz Band, Advanced Jazz Band, Chorus and Chamber Orchestra, plus a combined holiday-themed number at the end featuring all these groups plus our two rock bands!

 

Olympic rower and bronze medal winner Henry Hollingsworth '17 shared the story of his road to the Olympics — and offered Brooks students words of wisdom — during a visit to campus on October 21. (Read the transcript).

On October 5, Andrea Heinze was given The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) annual Burch Ford Kaleidoscope Award that recognizes three professionals each year, who have exemplified commitment, creativity and excellence in the area of Student and Residential Life!
