Overview
Volleyball - 2nd Team
Brooks was very excited to add volleyball to its list of athletic offerings for the first time in the school's history in 2018. The major focus during the beginning years of this program has been on skill-building, principles of the game, and developing a positive team culture. To continue to develop a robust 1st and 2nd team program, special care is given to develop young players and foster both a love for the game as well as strong team dynamics at both levels. Through fundamental motor-skill development and adherence to consistent and simple principles, players will learn to approach the game with confidence.
We believe that improvement is addictive so goal-setting, measuring progress, and giving personal feedback is emphasized so that improvement may be recognized and celebrated. The 2nd team is a competitive, cohesive multicultural team. We value solidarity, cooperation and respectfulness in our day-to-day practice and in games, hustling on the court while still having lots of fun. Veteran players of the 2nd team take their role as mentors to their younger teammates seriously, consistently sharing their wisdom about the sport during practices and games, which continues to build on the strong momentum the program has had in its beginning years.
