Tennis - Girls 1st Team

Brooks Girls’ tennis is a dynamic, thriving program. We aim to balance competition, growth, hard work, and a lot of fun. At all times, the Brooks Girls Tennis program promotes values of being good sports, supportive teammates, and strong competitors. In practice, we focus on technique and strategy, with a particular emphasis on doubles play. We are definitely a program getting stronger every year!

Coaches

  • Coach

    Elena Mandzhukova joined the science department faculty in 2018. Previously, she spent three years teaching science at Kents Hill School in Maine, where she also served as co-director of the International Student Program, coached boys varsity tennis and headed a dormitory. Mandzhukova graduated in 2015 from Bates College, where she double majored in bio-chemistry and Russian studies and literature. At Bates, she was a member of the tennis team, playing predominantly in the number-one singles and doubles position for four years, and earned an NCAA Tournament berth in doubles in 2012, the first national tournament appearance in the history of Bates women's tennis. Born in Bulgaria and raised in Portugal, Mandzhukova has an extensive background in tennis on an international level, as well. At Brooks she coaches girls 1st tennis and resides in Merriman House.
