Overview
Basketball - Boys 2nd Team
The boys basketball program includes three levels of play: 1st team, 2nd team, and 3rd team. The program is highly competitive, and it is not uncommon for the gym to be packed with enthusiastic spectators for home games. The 2nd and 3rd teams are ideal spots for those who are new to the sport or who are hoping to improve their skills with the hope of one day reaching the 1st team.
For more than 20 years, the Brooks boys basketball team has competed in the Independent School League and played against many of the top teams in New England. The teams plays more than 20 games a year and practices daily at our new campus athletic center.
The program's success has been based around intelligent play, outstanding outside shooting, hard-nosed defense, and a passion for the game of basketball. Additionally, our emphasis on character and sportsmanship has lead to success off the court.
In addition to three basketball courts, Brooks athletics facilities are exceptional, and athletes at all levels have the opportunity to use the fully equipped weight room to improve strength and conditioning.

CoachAmo Weld began his first year at Brooks as a Learning Center Specialist in 2024. A New Jersey native and graduate of Blair Academy, he earned his B.S. at Elon University and his master’s at Gonzaga University. He spent six years working at boarding schools, including Hebron Academy in Maine.
