UPDATE (March 26, 2020):

Considering the recent CDC recommendations and restrictions placed on many cities, we have decided to postpone Alumni Weekend. We will be in touch when we have information about a future date to invite you back to campus to celebrate with your classmates.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. For those of you who have already registered for the weekend, we will be in touch. Specific questions can be directed toward the member of our office handling your class, listed below. Thank you for your support and understanding during this time, as our extended school community together navigates these uncharted waters.

Hello Brooks School class of 1980,

The countdown is on for our 40th reunion this May! Can you believe it? Our goal is to get a big group back to North Andover (any and all family members are welcome to join us). We can visit our favorite places on campus, as well as check out new spaces, like the Center for the Arts. Please mark your calendars for May 8-9 and plan to attend!

Programming: There is a lot of fun in store for our reunion. On Friday night, we’ll gather off campus for some food and beverages to kickoff the weekend. Location suggestions welcomed. On Saturday, we’ll be on campus for a busy day and evening. The programming includes an alumni speaker, campus tour, chapel service, classroom visits and students athletic events, as well as an all-alumni dinner with dancing to cap things off. A complete schedule will be available in the coming months.

Accommodations: Brooks has reserved room blocks with discounted rates at hotels in Andover and Boston. Our class hotel recommendation is the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge. To see all options, please go here

Alumni Awards: The school is currently considering nominations for alumni awards that will be bestowed during reunion. The Distinguished Brooksian award honors individuals whose life and contributions to society exemplify the nobility of character and usefulness to humanity embodied in the spirit of the school. Please submit and encourage our classmates to submit nominations online by February 1.

Class Giving: Last year, seven percent of our form made a gift to the Brooks Fund, raising just under $2,000. We would love to see that amount increase to $5,000 this year in honor of this big reunion. Please join us in giving back to Brooks; you can make your gift online or through Venmo.

You will hear from us in the coming months about more details, so in the meantime, reach out to your friends and get excited! If you have any ideas or details you’d like to help with, let us know.

Your reunion team,

Jonathan Block, Dave EmbladLJ Harrington, Dave SpencerJim Yameen
