Brooks is test optional for students applying for admission.
Admission decisions are based on recommendations from current teachers, transcripts, extracurricular activities, achievements, and the interview.
Choosing not to submit test scores will not penalize the applicant, and submitting scores will not provide an advantage.
- English Language Proficiency (For Non-Native English Speakers):
- Requirement: All applicants for whom English is not their first language must be able to read, speak and understand English at an advanced level of proficiency.

Note: Brooks School does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.
Special Instructions for Students from Mainland China: Students who reside in and attend school in mainland China must register and interview with Vericant, our partner in China. Register and complete an interview with Vericant by December 1, 2024.
Review Process: The Brooks School Admission Office will review the Vericant interview and writing sample. After review, the school will inform the student and their family whether they can proceed with the application process.
