We will be offering both in-person and virtual interviews.

• In-Person Option:
   
  • Plan for a two-hour visit, which includes:
    • A campus tour.
    • A conversation with a representative from the admission office.
    • A discussion with parents/guardians.
       
• Virtual Option:
   
  • Schedule a one-hour virtual meeting:
    • First 30 minutes: Prospective student meets with an admission representative.
    • Last 30 minutes: Parents/guardians have a discussion with the admission representative.
       

 

• Application Checklist

• Test Optional: Applicants can choose whether or not to submit standardized test scores.

Brooks is test optional for students applying for admission.

Admission decisions are based on recommendations from current teachers, transcripts, extracurricular activities, achievements, and the interview.

Choosing not to submit test scores will not penalize the applicant, and submitting scores will not provide an advantage.

• English Language Proficiency (For Non-Native English Speakers):
   
  • Requirement: All applicants for whom English is not their first language must be able to read, speak and understand English at an advanced level of proficiency.
     
  • Testing Options: All applicants applicants for whom English is not their first language must submit scores from one of the following:
     
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) — School code: 4442
    • IELTS
    • Duolingo

Note: Brooks School does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.

Special Instructions for Students from Mainland China: Students who reside in and attend school in mainland China must register and interview with Vericant, our partner in China. Register and complete an interview with Vericant by December 1, 2024.

Review Process: The Brooks School Admission Office will review the Vericant interview and writing sample. After review, the school will inform the student and their family whether they can proceed with the application process.

• Brooks School offers need-based financial aid to make education accessible to qualified students.
   
• If you believe you need financial assistance, indicate your interest in financial aid by checking the appropriate box on the inquiry form and application.
   
• Brooks School awards over $6 million in financial aid annually, but not all applicants can be funded.
   
• If an applicant qualifies for financial aid but both financial aid and a place at the school are not available, the applicant will be wait-listed. To be taken off the wait-list, both a place and financial aid must become available.

In Order to Apply for Financial Aid: 

• To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. 
   
• The application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. 
   
• You are able to save your progress and return at any time. 
   
• At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit. 

The deadline for completing the financial aid application is December 31, 2024 for returning families and January 15, 2025 for new applicants. 

Applications received after the applicant date are considered as long as funds remain available. Decisions on financial aid awards accompany acceptances and enrollment contracts. 

If you do not believe that you can afford the cost of a Brooks education, then you should apply for financial aid. If you do not qualify for need-based financial aid, we may call and ask if you want your child to be considered for admission without aid.
