Apply Online
Submit Your Application
You may submit your application using either the Gateway to Prep Schools or The E3n's Standard Application (SAO).
- Your choice: Please choose the application platform with which you are most comfortable. We accept both applications and do not have a preference for one over the other.
- Please note: You may submit your application materials as they become complete. There is no need to wait until all of the required materials have been completed to submit your application. This is especially important for applicants using the SAO (Standard Application Online) platform. In order for required and optional recommendations, and all school records, to be added to your application in your Brooks Admission Portal, you must first complete and submit the Student Biographic Profile and application fee. Submitting materials as they are completed also helps our office with the application workflow.
- The deadline: Applications are due by January 15, 2027. If your circumstances prevent you from applying within Brooks School’s application timeline, please reach out to admission@brooksschool.org.

English Language Testing (For Non-Native English Speakers)
Because Brooks does not have an ESL program, non-native speakers of English are required to submit the results of an English language proficiency test as a requirement of a completed application.
For students from mainland China, an interview with Vericant, our partner in China, is required (to be completed by December 1, 2026), prior to scheduling an interview or submitting an application. For more details, please see "Special instructions for students from mainland China" below.
Requirement
Testing Options
All applicants for whom English is not their first language may submit the results of one of the following tests:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) — School code: 4442. International students who enroll at Brooks typically score 5.5 or above on this test under the new scoring guidelines (equates to 105 or above on the old scoring system).
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) — International students who enroll at Brooks typically score a 7.5 or above on the IELTS (scoring is on a 1-9 scale).
- Duolingo — International students who enroll at Brooks typically score a 130 or above on the IELTS (scoring is on a 10-160 scale).
Special Instructions for Students from Mainland China
We require that all students from mainland China interview with Vericant, our partner in China, and submit their interview and writing sample to Brooks for review before contacting our office to schedule an interview and before submitting an application.

Financial Aid
Applying for Financial Aid
We believe in making our exceptional education accessible to qualified students through a robust financial aid program.
If you believe you need financial assistance, indicate your interest in financial aid by checking the appropriate box on the inquiry form and application.
Brooks School awards more than $6 million in financial aid annually, but not all applicants can be funded. If an applicant qualifies for financial aid but both financial aid and a place at the school are not available, the applicant will be wait-listed. To be taken off the wait-list, both a place and financial aid must become available.

How to Apply for Financial Aid
- To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete.
- The application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere.
- You are able to save your progress and return at any time.
- At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit.
Financial Aid Application Deadlines
The deadline for completing the financial aid application is December 31, 2026 for returning families and January 15, 2027 for new applicants.
Applications received after the deadline are considered as long as funds remain available. Decisions on financial aid awards accompany acceptances and enrollment contracts.
If you do not believe that you can afford the cost of a Brooks education, then you should apply for financial aid. If you do not qualify for need-based financial aid, we may call and ask if you want your child to be considered for admission without aid.
