Standardized Testing
The topic of standardized testing in the college application process is one of considerable debate.
While many colleges have chosen to go “test-optional,” there are still many schools that are asking for test scores as part of their application package. At Brooks School, our college counselors will meet individually with each student to determine their best approach in regards to testing.
We recommend that each student take the SAT and ACT exams at least once. Brooks is a testing site for both of these exams and offers several dates where students can conveniently take the exam on campus with their fellow classmates.
After the score results are received, students will discuss a submission strategy with their counselor. They may decide to submit their scores to one or two colleges on their list, or perhaps none at all, depending on their results and their schools of interest. The college counselors will share their advice and expertise to assist in this important decision.
