About Brooks

Brooks is the best of both worlds, with challenging academics paired to active support, a lakeside 270-acre campus close to the city and ambitious athletics, arts and pre-professional opportunities available to all.

Brooks students have it all — and they take advantage of it.

In the classroom alone, we offer 161 credit courses — the average class size is just 11 — giving students a wide variety from which to choose, including 64 yearlong courses and 65 electives, for a truly individualized educational experience leading to continued success in competitive colleges and universities

Immersive Learning

The academic rigor and close relationships that students have with faculty and mentors allow Brooksians to dive deeply into their studies, explore them fully and learn at another level.

Immersive Learning

Culture of Exploration

The access students have at Brooks — to teachers, to opportunities, to new pursuits — enables and encourages them to explore via internships, the Exchange program and classes.

Culture of Exploration

Genuine Belonging

At Brooks, everyone is seen and heard. Through all-school gatherings, on Main Street, in Chapel, activities or the dorm, individuals share their perspective and learn from others, as one community.

Genuine Belonging

Small and Mighty

As one of the smallest independent schools in New England, our coeducational boarding and day school program for 340 students in grades 9-12 allows us to really know each other.

Acceptance comes from such a close-knit community.

It encourages students to try new things, be it our Students on the Forefront internship program, adventure abroad on Exchange, or a new sport from among our 44 interscholastic teams.

Brooks has given me opportunities to take classes I am passionate about that have hands-on learning, make close relationships and expand my circles. I’ve developed lifelong skills and am so grateful.”

100 Years strong

Founded in 1927, Brooks is about to celebrate turning 100. Join us as we embark on the next chapter of giving students the most meaningful educational experience they will have in their lives.
