Sports

Brooks participates in the Independent School League (ISL), which consists of 16 schools of approximately the same size and athletic strength. Team schedules are usually quite full, with the majority of games played on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In addition to participation on teams, there are opportunities for upper-school students to serve as managers.

Skilled coaching is offered at all levels of sports, and the traditions of sportsmanship, competition and excellence are strong at Brooks and in the ISL. Crews have competed at the Henley Royal and National Championship Regattas, and in the last 10 years, teams have won ISL or New England Championships in boys and girls soccer, boys and girls squash, boys hockey, softball, field hockey, girls basketball, wrestling, and boys cross country.

Letters are awarded to those members of first teams who have, in the opinion of coaches and captains, displayed outstanding skills, sportsmanship and competitiveness.
