The Brooks Parent Experience

At Brooks, parents are important members of the campus community, and we are committed to keeping you engaged.

On this page, you'll find recent announcements especially important to parents from faculty and administrators. You'll also find a calendar of parent events and attached documents that should be helpful throughout the academic year.

In the fall, Head of School John Packard travelled to Asia to visit with current parents, prospective families and alumni, and we wrote about his thoughts — especially about parents — during his trip. "I have been reminded in powerful ways of the trust and confidence so many families have had in Brooks School over the years. When one is eight hours into a 14-hour flight, there is a tendency to appreciate more fully than ever the belief families so far from our campus have in the school when entrusting sons and daughters to our care."

He also lauded current parents for helping to bring new families into the Brooks community. "I am reminded again that support of current parents matters as much as any factor in attracting great students and families to the school. Whether in the admission waiting room on campus, or with prospective families in Seoul, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, I cannot overstate the difference your support of the school makes."

Questions? Check out the list of school contacts below to determine who best to contact. Clear communication between the school and families is very important.

Many parents take part in events and fundraising hosted by the Brooks School Parents Association. The association, composed of several families from each form, supports Brooks School events for both students and parents. The Parents Association's dedication to enhance school life at Brooks has been integral in establishing a strong culture of parent support with demonstrated leadership and involvement. The Parents Association's efforts have an immediate impact on the students’ experience at Brooks. Learn more about the group here.

Classes, Credits and More
The Brooks curriculum provides students with a broad-based academic experience. In addition, students develop skills and habits of the mind that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. Students should keep their future career options open as long as possible. This course catalog will give you a sense of the depth and breadth of our curriculum. Brooks offers students the opportunity to choose academic programs appropriate for their abilities; many courses have multiple levels. Students have more choices as they progress through the curriculum. Learn more here.
