A hard-fought game ends with a 1-0 double-overtime win for Brooks.
On a perfect day for soccer, Brooks faced top-seeded Nobles in the Class A championship game. The teams were evenly matched, with both sides producing a number of scoring chances in the first half, which ended in a scoreless tie. Nobles carried the play to start the second half, but in the final 10 minutes Brooks took over and had a number of near misses. Nobles responded with a hard drive off the Brooks crossbar as play went back and forth.
In the last 30 seconds of the second overtime period, Sarah Bresette (assisted by Suki Smith) scored to put Brooks up 1-0 and secure the win. The win caps off the Bishops' overall record at 18-2-1 and gives the 1st girls soccer team their first Class A Championship in 10 years (since 2002).
