After a season marred by gloomy forecasts and frustrating rainouts, Brooks School's recent sports season ended on a bright note with the Spring Sports Awards ceremony yesterday.
"It was really nice to highlight some of the accomplishments of our athletes, especially after they persevered through some lousy weather this season," said Director of Athletics Bobbie Crump-Burbank P'11 about the ceremony, held in the Frank D. Ashburn Chapel.
Without championships to end the season, as have fall and winter sports, spring teams find themselves in a unique position of wrapping up without as much fanfare — and after a shorter season than the others, to boot. Add in numerous cancelled games due to storms and athletes were due a pick-me-up.
And they got it with the awards ceremony on Thursday that celebrated achievement, sportsmanship and teamwork. Read on for the winners:
